Well, it's been awhile. As per usual once I fall off that perverbial wagon I take a month of Sundays to get back on. So here I am, it's July, the kids are asleep and I find myself to lazy to do much else other than surf. The internet is so big and yet I get bored with it really fast. Even Facebook, I try to post (ok, that's a lie, really does anyone really care what I post?). It seems like a big contest for friends or something. Though I am keeping in touch with my friends through it so I guess it does serve a purpose. I can check on them and see if they are still alive. That's always good.
Here's a ringer of a thought that I had today. I was at Zoe's gymnastics class and Marsha, the teacher, mentioned that she would really miss me if I moved. I can tell it was genuine. As I thought about it she would probably be the only one other than my own faily members. I'm not being morose, just facing a truth. From the time I was 16 and decided that I was getting the hell out of this state I have pretty much kept everyone at arms length/didn't really put the work into the friendship. I have my college friends but they are scattered to the 4 winds, but at least I can call them true friends. I do love them all. I hope wherever we move I can settle down and find a good group of people and a sense of belonging. I want the same for my kids to. But, as I'm learning as I go, I am going to trust fate and try not to visualize how I would like things to be. It brings my emotions piece. Damn, I'm out of coffee. Dare I drink another?

Playful Times
Ok, I have to admit that I am getting into this. Me, the person who lives her life with the 'been there, done that, next' kind of approach. Well, I decided to play around today by adding fun graphics and 'bling' to the blog. I'm just testing the waters a bit and then I can branch out later. I needed a creative outlet today. I even had a chance to practice my mountain dulcimer. Another thing I have recently found a love for. Here I am at age 29, four times over, and I finally have some tangible hobbies! Go me!
I am finding my 30's to be very introspective. Introspection is the self-observation and reporting of conscious inner thoughts, desires and sensations. It is a conscious mental and usually purposive process relying on thinking, reasoning, and examining one's own thoughts, feelings, and, in more spiritual cases, one's soul. It can also be called contemplation of one's self, and is contrasted with extrospection, the observation of things external to one's self. Introspection may be used synonymously with self-reflection and used in a similar way.

Day 1 Why I chose to name this blog as I did.
I'm reading this Nora Roberts book where the character escapes from her old life and hightails it to Ireland to live in the remote cottage. The cottage is simple, quiet, surrounded by flowers, and has just about every basic thing (I think I could live without a dryer/microwave) in it. At least the main character brought her laptop. Remote but connected if one is so inclined. I honestly didn't want to read any further because I didn't want the main character to leave that peaceful cottage.
I guess reading blogs, in a way, can be just like that. You get to read a story about someones life and it doesn't necessarily need to be dramatic, miserable, and depressing. I really hate depressing books. Truth be told, I used to read the last few pages in a romance novel to make absolutely sure that it ended happily!
When my life gets out of kilter... I will go to the cottage in my mind. Unless I win the lottery... then I will go to a real cottage on a hill in Ireland. The kids can live in the one next door, the one with sound proof thatching.
